Sai Bourothu is serving as a Project Officer in the Police Reforms Program with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative. She is passionate on issues of gender and sexuality in the South Asian context, with a special focus on the interactions of gender and sexual minorities with the criminal justice system. She is actively involved with Trans movements on inclusive higher education and Trans student mobilizations.
She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Osmania University, Hyderabad and a Masters in Social Work (Criminology and Justice) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India.
Rumani is a creative communicator and a trained lawyer with an eye for transformative strategies in policy advocacy. She finds joy and inner peace in constructive collaborations and spiritual fulfillment from her contributions to Triumphant 2Gether. She believes that cross cultural experiences of identities hold a lot of knowledge on expansion of our collective consciousness, which we as a species require to evolve into better versions of ourselves!
